and School Ag Tours are TOO!
Join us this fall, when our live agri-food education tours begin again. Students can get hands-on experience with a variety of animal experts, livestock breed displays, and various crops. Tours begin Monday, September 8th, 2025 and run until Thursday September 11th, 2025.

POD Education

Students will have an opportunity to recognize milk’s role in healthy living by analyzing essential nutrients found in milk and their functions in maintaining a healthy body. They will also learn how milk is processed into dairy products for consumers. This year again, we will have a robotic milker on site to show how many farms are milking their cows and how it improves their welfare.

Where do bacon, ribs, soap, and over 180 other products come from? From pigs raised on farms across Ontario! Students will learn about the different cuts of meat, what products are made from pigs, and they will get to see pigs up close in the pig mobile!

Discover the incredible contributions of sheep to our daily lives! From providing high-quality wool for clothing to producing nutritious milk and meat, sheep are a vital part of sustainable agriculture in Ontario. Meet a local sheep farmer, explore the diverse methods of sheep farming, and learn how these gentle animals help create the products we use every day!

This POD is to be confirmed, but will feature one of our local commodity organizations.

Students will have an opportunity to understand egg production and the care that Ontario Egg Farmers provide their hens. They will also learn how eggs are collected, graded and delivered farm fresh to grocery stores within 3 to 7 days. Students will also explore the nutritional benefits of eating eggs.

Students will explore the entire food system with Growing Chefs! Ontario. We’ll explore each step of the food system from farm to table, with special emphasis on how food is grown and how food scraps can be turned into worm compost. We’ll have interactive displays and knowledgeable staff to guide students through the exciting journey that is the food system!

Yes, we will have a ‘Thirst Station’ on site. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle with them.

The barn is accessible, but depending on the needs of your student our accessible washroom may not be large enough. Please contact us to discuss further.

School tours run free of charge, so you will just have your bus expenses.

This is an indoor venue, but come dressed for the weather as elements of the school tour program take place outside.

No, during our school tours program the vendors and rides are closed. Don't forget to check out our Fair share school fundraiser though, as any tickets students purchase under this program to enjoy with their parents/family can earn them money for their school.

Buses will drop off outside the Paddock area, which is inside our fenced in lot.

Yes, students are permitted to touch the animals (provided the animals want to cooperate/ be touched). We will provide special hand washing instructions and reminders in advance to teachers with tips on how to be safe around animals.

We have pigs, alpacas, goats, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, donkey's, llama's, water buffalo, horses and potentially some other breeds, to be determined. POD rotations will take students through education topics from Growing Chefs!, Ontario Pork, Dairy Farmers, Sheep Farmers and Egg Farmers.
