Day of Dreams is one of them.
Designed for children with special needs aged 3 to 12, this special morning at the Western Fair offers rides, animals, entertainment, and lunch in a calm, sensory-friendly environment before the public gates open. In partnership with North American Midway Entertainment, everything is provided free of charge. Space is limited to 400 guests.

Event Details
Day of Dreams takes place on Friday, September 18, from 12:00 - 3:00 P.M., on the last Friday of the Western Fair.
12:00 – 1:00 PM: Gates open; lunch served (hot dog on a bun, bottled water, assorted fruit)
1:00 – 3:00 PM: Entertainment, animal barn tours, Kiddyland rides, and more
3:00 PM: Private event ends; public gates open
DOD attendees are welcome to stay and enjoy the fair after 3:00 P.M. Please be aware that once the fair opens to the public, there will be music, crowds, lights, and sounds.
RULES & REGULATIONS
Only children with special needs aged 3 to 12 are eligible to participate.
Each family may register up to 4 guests’ total: the participating child, two parents/guardians, and 1 additional guest. No exceptions.
All registrations must be completed by Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Each registered attendee will receive individual admission tickets by email. Tickets can be printed or shown digitally at the gate. Gate staff must scan one ticket per person. Admission cannot be granted without a valid ticket, so please ensure you have yours ready before arriving.
One parent/guardian must accompany the child and is responsible for managing all of the child's needs.
Registrations are non-transferable and there are no rain checks.
Some Kiddyland rides have height and weight safety guidelines. Guests who do not meet those requirements may access the main midway after 3:00 P.M., which offers a wider selection of rides. Please follow all posted safety signage and ride operator instructions.
